Hunter Battery-Operated Controllers Compatible with Others’ Solenoids

When using the Smart Valve Controller (SVC) or Wireless Valve System (WVS) battery-operated controllers, you must use DC latching solenoids.

How can you tell Hunter’s standard solenoids apart from DC latching solenoids?

Look at the wire leads. Standard solenoids have 2 red ones, DC latching solenoids have 1 black and 1 red. Be sure to match the leads to the correct color (black is “common” and red is “station”).
