Small Area? No Big Problem with the Wide Array of Hunter Sprinklers and NozzlesFor irrigation designers and contractors alike, one of the constant challenges is finding a way to efficiently irrigate smaller landscape areas. Since these smaller sections can include a wide assortment of planted material – everything from turf to shrubs to the most delicate flowers – it stands to reason that no single nozzle can provide all your irrigation answers. Whether you choose to use Institutional Spray, Pro-Spray® or SRS, or prefer to use one of our rotors designed to accommodate small areas (PGJ, I-20), Hunter should be considered your sprinkler of choice because it is the sprinkler of choices. Spray or rotor, the line-up of nozzle choices is such a wide range, that one is certain to meet your particular need. SpraysOur 2-, 4- and 6-foot nozzles are uniquely crafted for turf areas with smaller radius needs. Standard spray nozzles typically cover the 7- to 15-foot range, making effective coverage of smaller areas difficult at best. This trio of nozzles will precisely irrigate just the area you want, without wasting water beyond your desired radius. These nozzles are available in traditional quarter- and half-circle patterns for precise watering of narrow areas.
The pressure compensating bubbler nozzle (PCN) sits atop a riser that retracts into the ground when not in use. The PCN bubbler uses no fancy filtration or unsightly above-ground tubes, making it the perfect alternative to drip for individual tree or shrub watering…and the most tamper-proof, eye-appealing method of deep watering available today. The multi-stream bubbler nozzle (MSBN) offers yet another choice for your planting bed needs. Four models are available (.5 GPM half-circle, 1.0 GPM half- or full-circle, 2.0 GPM full-circle). This style of bubbler nozzle is not available from any other manufacturer. Both are pressure compensating which ensures the correct flow rate while limiting the radius of throw. Hunter also offers several other specialty nozzles that meet specific needs of smaller areas: The industry’s only left and right corner strip nozzles, as well as side strip nozzles, for long, narrow turf or planting areas. Our new center strip stream bubbler has been designed for placement in the center (rather than the edge) of a narrow area of shrubs or plants that is much longer than it is wide. For slopes and planting beds, our dial-setting, adjustable stream spray is now available in an 8 foot version as well as a popular original 16 foot throw. Rotors
The PGJ is the Hunter rotor that was designed specifically to serve as an alternative to sprays. By installing two rows of PGJ instead of three rows of sprays, you’ll require fewer valves and stations and, in turn, less trenching, piping and labor. You can also place the PGJ on the same valve as other rotors since they have similar precipitation rates… something that’s impossible to do with spray heads! Almost every project has some difficult-to-water areas, but Hunter has many different nozzles that offer many possible solutions.
