PGP-ATR: The Replacement Rotor Making an Impact on ImpactsAt the company where the flagship product is the number one selling rotary sprinkler in the world (that's Hunter, in case you haven't figured it out), we're humble enough to admit that impact sprinklers have earned a place in the history of irrigation. Before the development of the Hunter PGP and its rise to prominence as the quality standard for the entire industry, impacts ruled. They were the technological state-of-the-art. But please take note of our generous use of the words "history," "before" and "were." These words represent the past, just like the mechanics of the impact sprinkler. Today, despite the impressive improvements in sprinkler engineering, thousands of impacts are still in use around the world. And most of these remain in use simply because it is so easy to replace one impact with another, since the canister remains in place and only the "guts" need to be switched out. Thus, if you ask many contractors and maintenance workers why they continue to use impacts, their answer quite typically would be "because we're already using them and it's easier to continue using them, rather than retrofit everything." Well, all that changes now thanks to an innovative new product – well, actually an innovative new version of an existing product – from Hunter. We've taken the world's best selling rotor, the PGP, and adapted it into a model specifically created to be compatible with common impact canisters that house plastic impact sprinklers. We call it the Hunter Advanced Technology Impact Replacement (ATR). Thanks to PGP-ATR, with no digging and in just a matter of minutes, it is now possible to repair or replace an entire outdated system of impacts with gear drive rotors. And not just any gear drive rotors, but those with the same proven performance of the Hunter PGP. All that needs to be done to install them is to simply thread them in place by hand, with no need for any special tools. The result will be a dramatically higher level of performance, a lower level of sound and the elimination of the problems of grit, contamination and tampering. Like its big brother, PGP, the PGP-ATR boasts such features as an integral rubber cover that won't fall off and keeps dirt out, a large dirty water screen that puts an end to nozzle clogs, and, of course, the continuously improved and proven long-life gear drive. And, unlike the impacts they replace, the PGP-ATR provides a whisper quiet gear drive that eliminates clatter, closed-case sealed drive mechanism to protect from debris, slow and even rotation for better pattern control and less overspray, and a wide choice of nozzles for customized coverage. The new PGP-ATR is available in a 40º-360º adjustable arc version and, best of all, fits right into most common impact canisters. Replace your old impact sprinklers with replacement sprinklers that have made an impact on an entire industry. The Hunter PGP-ATR is the quick, easy, high performance and economical alternative to impacts and they're now available at your local authorized Hunter distributor. |
