Hunter’s ET System Featured on ABC-TV’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Resident Sadie Holmes created the first non-profit shelter and assistance center of its kind in Orlando, after being overwhelmed with donations when she was in her own time of need. A fire in 2005 had destroyed her property, which was already ravaged by the effects of Hurricane Charley. Extreme Makeover’s professional design team came to the rescue, along with contractors and hundreds of volunteers to assist in the rebuild project. Also assisting with the ET irrigation installation were Crawford Design in Edgewater, Florida; Pinnacle Land Development in Orlando; and Central Pump & Supply, an irrigation distributor with seven offices throughout the state. As part of the landscaping project, Hunter donated one of its first ET systems, which is designed to automatically create an irrigation program each day by measuring evapo-transpiration rates and replenishing any lost moisture to avoid over-watering. ET-based irrigation is considered a “best practice” by the irrigation industry and water purveyors. ET is designed for use with most Hunter residential/commercial controller families including the SRC, Pro-C, ICC, and the new ACC. Ideal for any geographical region, Hunter’s ET System conserves water and energy based on actual conditions at the irrigated site, and is not reliant on data from weather stations miles away. Long after the design team, camera crew, and volunteers are gone, Hunter’s ET System continues to provide the ultimate in efficient irrigation management. Once again, Hunter is proud to be part of this team spirit of helping those in need, a credo that has made Extreme Makeover: Home Edition so popular among viewers! |
