Schedule Form Shows Customers What Their System is DoingCommunication is the key to any successful relationship, the one between contractor and customer being no exception. Of course, most customers will not question the jobs you do or the services you recommend, deferring to your expertise. Don’t let that expertise be a secret. Share it with them and give them some insight into the service you provide them. More and more contractors are choosing to install the Pro-C controller because of the overall convenience of the product. That convenience can easily be extended to your customers, as well, by showing them how you’ve programmed the unit for maximum efficiency. On page 21 of the Pro-C Owners Manual, you’ll find a watering schedule form that can be filled out, detailing the entire irrigation schedule, program by program, station by station. The Pro-C features three different programs (A, B and C). On the form, under each program, you can indicate the days of the week the program is scheduled to run (or if it is an odd/even or interval watering).
Below that, you can list the start times for each of the programs (remember, there are as many as four start times per program). Finally, there is a breakdown for each program by station. You can enter the location of the station (e.g., front lawn, back shrubs, trees) and the length of the run time for each. It’s easy to help minimize customer confusion about how their controllers are scheduled simply by doing a little up front work. Consider it an added service you can provide that only takes a few minutes, but will help you look better in your customers’ eyes…and set you apart from the competition as a contractor “who cares about his customers.” Page 20 of the Pro-C Owners Manual shows an example of the watering schedule form, with information filled in to demonstrate how the form works. |
