New Wireless Rain Sensor Released by Hunter IndustriesHunter Industries has introduced the new Wireless Rain-Clik™, an innovative electronic weather sensor that can be installed on a residential or commercial site without running electrical lines to the irrigation controller. Unlike other sensors, which require extensive labor to set up, the Wireless Rain-Clik can be mounted virtually anywhere on a site where rainfall is unobstructed, such as a fence, wall, gazebo or patio. In most instances, contractors do not need to use a ladder or special tools to attach the sensor because it has handy mounting brackets. Compatible with all standard 24-volt controllers, the Wireless Rain-Clik is available in a ready-to-install kit with transmitter and receiver. The transmitter has a range of 300 feet; the receiver attaches near the irrigation controller and has a built-in bypass switch. Installation of the new Hunter sensor typically takes less than 15 minutes: the contractor connects the receiver to a standard controller. With the irrigation system running manually, the contractor sets up the Rain-Clik™ transmitter in a location away from the water spray. By clicking the sensor "test button," he can verify that the irrigation will shut down before he permanently mounts the unit to a nearby fence or other location. The Wireless Rain-Clik features an innovative Quick Response™ function that turns off the irrigation system as soon as it starts to rain. When the weather returns to sunny and dry, the preprogrammed irrigation schedule will resume operation. Many contractors have been hesitant to add sensors to existing systems because of the challenges involved, such as climbing up on roofs, running wires or trying to drill into concrete or brick buildings. Now the Wireless Rain-Clik kit can be added to an existing system without trenching and wire runs – or it can be sold as part of a "upgrade package" for a new installation. With more communities requiring rain sensors, or restricting the use of water, the Hunter Wireless Rain-Clik offers a ready solution for unintended irrigation on rainy days. The Hunter sensor is UL listed and FCC/DOC approved. It is debris- and weather-resistant. The Wireless Rain-Clik is part of Hunter’s expanding line of water-efficient irrigation products for turf and landscape. Hunter also manufactures sensors for wind and freeze protection, along with the industry’s widest range of rotors, sprays, valves and controllers.
