Hunter Introduces SVC-400, New 4-Station Wireless ControllerHunter Industries has released the SVC-400, a new four-station battery-operated controller for use on landscaped sites with restricted access to electrical power. The SVC-400 works with standard battery latching solenoids and installs directly into the valve box. Irrigation contractors have found battery-powered controllers especially useful on isolated sites, such as roadway medians, remote parks or sports fields. The controllers can also be used to add additional zones to an existing system without trenching additional wires, or with temporary systems used to irrigate newly-planted trees or slopes. The SVC-400 controls four zone valves that can be placed up to 100’ away. The unit operates with a 9-volt battery guaranteed to last longer than a full season. (Battery not required for back-up program.) Push-button programming and a bright LCD display simplify set-up. Flexible programming options include nine start times per day; seven-day calendar or interval watering; programmable rain delay and more. Flexible start times can accommodate a range of watering schedules, such as low volume drip, establishing new turf or irrigating steep slopes with low infiltration rates. The SVC-400 features a sealed battery compartment and is fully submersible and waterproof to 12 feet. The solid construction is compatible with the harsh environment of a valve box, allowing the unit to be installed below grade and out of site of vandals. The unit works with all Hunter weather sensors, including the Hunter Mini-Clik®, Rain-Clik™ and Freeze-Clik®, which suspend watering during inclement weather. Hunter also manufactures the SVC-100, a single-station battery-operated controller, and the WVC, a multi-station wireless valve controller directed by a handheld wireless programmer. Hunter Industries is among the world’s leading manufacturers of water-efficient irrigation equipment for turf and landscape. Hunter rotors, sprays, valves, controllers, central control systems and weather sensors are available through a nationwide network of professional irrigation distributors. |
