From the CEO – A Message from Richard Hunter, November 1997As we approach 1998 and our company's 17th year in operation, we thought it was time to celebrate the products and the people that made us the company we are today. While Hunter Industries produces a complete line of irrigation products - valves, controllers, rotors, sprays and a variety of accessories - it is the gear-driven rotary sprinkler that has made the Hunter name so internationally respected. This special issue of Hunter Headlines is thus dedicated to our rotors and the people and practices that have made these products such an integral part of our success. So what does the future hold for Hunter Industries? Our goal as we approach the millennium is to not only be superior in a single area, but to be the best at everything we do. We are proud of the fact that we have long been the number one name in rotors; now we want to see the Hunter name hold the same lofty position when it comes to valves, sprays and controllers, as well. In striving for that goal, we have focused our efforts on producing products and services that will meet the needs of professional contractors, designers and distributors. We thank you for your role in our success and we remain committed to seeing that your needs will always be our first priority. The people that comprise our company and the culture in which they operate ultimately determines what it is that sets us apart from the competition. We are justifiably proud of the nearly 1000 people that make up the "team" at our Southern California and North Carolina facilities and our worldwide sales force, and we are equally proud of the relationships they have fostered with our thousands of customers around the globe. Unlike our chief competitors, our family name is still our company name. I view that as my personal commitment to uphold the values of my father. After all, there will always be a certain amount of pride one takes in a product when they know their name is affixed to it. We've produced millions of rotors since we opened for business in 1981 and intend to make millions more. More important, we intend to retain our reputation as the innovative leader of our industry. In order to stay ahead and be at the top of the game, we realize that we must be our own best competition. That is why we remain committed to the cause of constant improvement - no matter how good we're doing it today, we can always do better tomorrow. |
